Members of Greenwood Elementary faculty and staff volunteered their time on Friday, March 2nd to H.O.P.E. Ministries of Delmarva. H.O.P.E. Ministries was birthed in the hearts of a few individuals back in 2014 to start a feeding center in Somerset County starting in the Princess Anne, MD community. H.O.P.E. stands for Helping Others Prepare for Eternity and their mission is to feed the hungry of Somerset County.

GES Hit the Books Reading Program will begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2018!

We will be participating in Hit the Books again this year! This year’s Hit the Books Reading Program will begin on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 (Day after Martin Luther King Day) and cover a six-week period concluding on Friday, February 23, 2018. During this time, each student is asked to read a minimum of four (4) books, record each book on his/her bookmark and return the bookmark to their homeroom teacher. The Shorebirds will reward every student who completes the “Hit the Books” program with two FREE tickets for their school’s designated night at the ballpark.
