We have another busy week around GES! This week is Read Across America Week, a special week that we celebrate our love for reading. This week is a Spirit Week and students can dress casually as long as they are participating in the special dress. A flier went home last week, but here's a brief rundown.
-Monday is "Read a t-shirt" day
-Tuesday is "Decades day"
-Wednesday is "Crazy socks"
-Thursday is "Crazy hair or hat"
-Friday is "Wear animal print or a shirt with an animal on it day."
**Please remember that students may not wear jeans with rips, holes, or tears in them.

Big congrats to our staff member of the week Ms. DiTullo! Thank you for all you do!! 🌟

Thank you to the fifth grade families that made it out to our grade level Snack N' Share event this week. It was so great to hear families share that they enjoyed learning upcoming skills and strategies from our teachers.

We are so excited to introduce you to...______!
Oh no, our mascot doesn't have a name yet!!!
Help us name our GES Eagle Mascot!
If you have an idea, comment below. Once we have a list of names we will let the students vote on the name.

It's a beautiful day today and our GES students sure are loving the fresh air!! ☀️

2nd and 3rd graders in Mrs. Brumley’s Art classes recently completed abstract paintings done with acrylic paint on canvas. Students used inflated balloons to “paint” their flowers and some students used sharpies to add details.

Greenwood Elementary will not have after school tutoring on Tuesday, February 21st

Good evening Greenwood families! I first want to thank our second-fourth grade families that made it out to our grade level Snack N' Share events this past week. It was so great to hear families share that they enjoyed learning upcoming skills and strategies from our teachers. Fifth grade families, fear not because your Snack N' Share event is coming up this week! Please remember that school is closed on Monday in observance of President's Day. Tuesday is our McTeacher Night, which will be held at the Princess Anne McDonald's from 5:00-8:00. This is an opportunity to see our staff working at McDonald's, receive a math and reading placement of activities, as well as some reading and math tips for at home. McTeacher Night is also a school fundraiser because McDonald's donates a portion of their sales back to GES. It will be a great night and we hope to see you there! That evening is also our School Board meeting at the Board of Education, which starts at 6:00. Wednesday is School Spirit Day so students can rock their GES shirts with pride! On Thursday fifth grade will be having a learning exhibition from 10:00-10:30 and their Snack N' Share which starts at 10:45. Fifth grade families come on out for a time of learning for students and families. We will close out the week with our PBIS incentive, Snack Cart, and free casual day for students on Friday. Thank you all and enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations to our new Teacher of the Year, Ms. Danielle Moore!

Good evening Greenwood families! Let's take a look at the busy week ahead at GES. The second grade parent collaboration is on Monday at 1:00 and we have School Spirit Day on Wednesday. The third grade parent collaboration event is on Thursday at 2:00 and fourth grade will be Friday at 9:30. Snack Cart will also be open on Friday.
This week is also the grand opening of our school store, which will be open daily during homeroom from 8:35-9:00. Sample items include notebooks, colored pencils, fun pencils, erasers, GES t-shirts, and personalized uniform sweatshirts. Check out Facebook for pictures of all items and prices. All monies raised from this ongoing fundraiser go directly back to the school.
Thank you all for your continued support of GES and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The 100th day of school is an exciting milestone for every elementary classroom. Most importantly for students, it’s a special opportunity for them to reflect on their hard work and celebrate all the progress they’ve made, and there’s a lot to celebrate for making it through these first 100 days! Students celebrated by dressing as old people, graphing, counting, and many other activities. A special thank you for the PTO for providing 100 day cookies! A great day for all yesterday!
