Check this out! Mrs. Miles challenged her fifth graders to empty a bottle of toothpaste and then get every bit back in. Then she shared "Mr. Peabody's Apples by Madonna" and asked the students to try to make a connection between her challenge and the book. The main character in the book realized that once words come out of someone's mouth, it's hard to take them back; just like it was hard to get all the toothpaste back in the bottle. What a powerful lesson for all of us! Words are POWERFUL and can be used for both good and bad. We're going to use our words for good at GES! Great lesson Mrs. Miles and awesome job to all the students!

Did you receive a text message from SCPS with a request to create your Rooms account? This is an invitation to connect to your students teachers. Set up your account using a web browser, then use your new account login information to access Rooms in the SCPS mobile app!

Mrs. Sproul's 5th grade class took on the Apple Challenge. Three groups stacked all 5 apples, but the amazing fact was that no student gave up during the 10 minute time period! #resilience
